About Me
Hi, I’m Cassandra — welcome to ACL Again.
I’m a mom of five in a beautifully blended family, a full-time working woman in the corporate world, a former horse trainer turned desk jockey — and currently, a two-time ACL tear survivor.
Yep. Twice.
The first time, I tore my ACL diving for a volleyball during a friendly game with my daughters at our campground. One second I was the cool mom with a killer serve… the next, I was flat on the sand with a torn ligament and a long recovery ahead.
I had the BEAR ACL surgery — and it worked. But a few months later, during one of my first bike rides back, a bug flew into my eye, I crashed, flew over the handlebars, and landed right on the bad leg. So… here we are. ACL Again.
This Blog Is My Ice Pack Therapy
I created ACL Again to share the real, unfiltered journey of healing after knee surgery — twice. Not from the perspective of a pro athlete or fitness influencer, but from a regular mom trying to get through PT with a laptop in one hand and a toddler climbing on the other.
Here you’ll find:
-
Honest recovery updates from both BEAR and traditional ACL surgeries
-
The emotional rollercoaster that no one warns you about
-
Tips for balancing parenting, work, and PT
-
Reviews of the gear that actually helps (and what’s a waste of money)
-
Lightly sarcastic commentary, because humor is my favorite coping mechanism
A Few Fun Facts:
-
I used to train horses full-time. Now I just ride for fun — and pray I stay on.
-
I work in transportation compliance (read: I basically live in spreadsheets).
-
My family is wild, wonderful, and loud.
-
I’m stubborn, sarcastic, and more determined than ever to heal — again.
Why You Should Stick Around
If you’ve ever torn your ACL, are in the middle of recovery, or just want to know what it’s like to juggle life with a busted knee and a sense of humor — you’re in the right place.
This is a space for real talk, real progress, and real setbacks. No filters. No “bounce back in 6 weeks!” lies. Just a woman doing her best to come back stronger, even if it’s one awkward step at a time.
🧊 Still here? Grab an ice pack, take a seat (gently), and follow along.
We’re going to get through this. Again.
